Marble is a common choice when it comes to choosing a tombstone, as it is elegant and withstands outdoor weathering conditions well. Every few years or so, outdoor weathering elements leave the grave headstone looking dull and thick with residue, making it important to clean the marble when you notice this buildup. To properly clean the marble, you want to use mild ingredients that remove all of that buildup without harming the marble.
Instructions as follows:
Firstly, pour 2 tbsp. dish soap into the bottom of one cleaning bucket.
Secondly, fill the two buckets with about 1 gallon water each.
Thirdly, dip a cleaning rag in the bucket of soapy water, and wipe the rag over the marble slab grave headstone. Dip the rag back into the soapy water every few swipes to absorb fresh cleaning solution.
Fourthly, swish a toothbrush into the soapy water and scrub lettering and engraved areas of the stone.
Fifthly, dip a clean rag into the bucket of clean water, and wipe it over the entire tombstone, again dipping the rag back into the water after every few swipes.
